Crypto Exchange Verification Failed? Fix the Common Causes

A failed identity check does not always reveal the precise cause. Read the official rejection message first, correct only the identified problem, and never use edited documents or another person's identity.

Start with the rejection message

Open the verification page and copy the exact reason into a private note. Separate a correctable submission problem from an eligibility or policy restriction. Repeating the same upload without a change is unlikely to help.

Do not create another account to bypass a duplicate-account or identity restriction. That can conflict with provider terms and complicate support review.

Fix document image problems

Use the original, accepted, unexpired document specified for your country. Photograph it in even light with every edge visible. Avoid screenshots, scans, filters, reflections, blur, fingers covering details, or compressed images.

Bybit lists failed ID detection, screenshots or scans, and invalid documents among common failure reasons. The available document types and upload methods can vary by country, so follow the choices presented in the live flow.

Fix personal data and face mismatches

Enter your full legal details exactly as shown on the document, including name order where required. For the live check, center your face, use sufficient light, remove hats or glasses when instructed, and avoid filters.

If your legal name, nationality, or document has changed, use the provider's official update process instead of altering an image. Binance lists expired documents and changes to name, ID number, or nationality as reasons its verified information may need updating.

Know when the issue is not technical

Verification can fail because the provider found another verified account, the applicant does not meet age or country rules, the account is restricted, or the requested product is unavailable. Image changes cannot solve an eligibility decision.

Use official support for an unexplained rejection. Share only the information requested through the authenticated support process, keep the case number, and never pay an outside recovery service for approval.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Why does facial verification keep failing?

Common causes include poor lighting, an obstructed or off-center face, filters, camera permission problems, or a mismatch with the identity document. Follow the live instructions exactly.

Can I use a scanned ID for exchange KYC?

Do not assume so. Bybit currently says it does not accept e-copies or scanned images for individual KYC. Use the original document and the upload method shown by your provider.

Can I use someone else's ID after mine fails?

No. Do not impersonate another person or transfer an account identity. Use your own accurate information and the provider's official review or appeal path.
